Day 1: Shimla - Sarahan

(170 KM)

Morning drive to Sarahan via Narkanda, Kumarsain villages. From here onwards the road follows the Satluj river upstream via Rampur up to Jeori. From here 18 Kms Link road ascend leads you to Sarahan. Sarahan was once the capital of Rampur Bushair Kingdom and also the Centre for traders from Bhutan/Ladakh/Tibet and Yark, who brought their wares to the local Market. A tiny beautiful village surrounded by Apple orchards and dominated by Srikhand Mahadev peak(5155mtrs)which resembles Shivling, is famous for Bhimakali temple, a mixture of Buddhist & Hindu architecture It is said to be 200 years old. Overnight stay at Hotel/ Guest House.

Day 2: Sarahan - Kalpa

Morning drive to Kalpa Village. It is situated at an altitude of 2900mtrs. It was a Distt. Head Quarter of Kinnaur. It has a magnificent view of Kinner Kailash Massif can be seen from Kalpa. Overnight at Hotel/ Guest House.

Day 3: Kalpa - Sangla - Chitkul

Morning Drive to Sangla valley. It is charming and beautiful place. Sangla Lies on the banks of the enchanting Baspa river in Kinnaur Distt.
Chitkul: Chitkul is the last and highest village in the enchanting Sangla valley, situated at an altitude of 3435mtrs on the right bank of the river Baspa. It’s time once again to escape the dust and grim of the Plains, to sit by a gurgling stream, watching snow-capped peaks in the distance blending with the Sky... Drive Back to Kalpa.

Day 4: Kalpa - Tabo

(180 KM)

Morning drive to Tabo Monastery (1000years old). Tabo- Gompa is one of the oldest and typical Monasteries of Spiti built around 996 A.D. by Ringchen Jangpo. The most important monastery of Spiti Archeologically. The wall frescoes of the Monastery are comparable in their antiquity and quality to those of Ajanta Caves. It has about 60 Lamas and a big collection of scriptures, wall paintings, etc. Morals of this Gompa have a great similarity to that of Ajanta painting. North/East of the monastery there are several caves where the monks used to meditate. Overnight at Guest House/Hotel.

Day 5: Tabo - Dhankar - Kaza

SIGHTSEEING

The Traditional Capital of Spiti is a big village and erstwhile capital of Spiti King-the Gompa is perched on the top of a cliff. Hilltop fort which served as a jail in the olden days Dominates the scene with more than 100 Lamas and Buddhist Scriptures in Bhoti language, the principle is a statue of Dhyan Budha consisting of four complete figures seated back to back is the main attraction of these four to five centuries old Monastery. Overnight at Hotel 'Khangsar'.

Day 6: Kaza - Ki Gompa - Kibber Village - Kaza

(SIGHTSEEING)

Ki-Monastery-Oldest and biggest Monastery of Spiti situated above Ki Village and perched on a rocky hilltop. It houses a beautiful painting of Budha. We continue to drive after visiting Ki- Gompa on a winding route and ascending through a gorge to Kibber Village, one of the highest inhabited villages in Asia, situated at the height of 4205 mtrs and back to Kaza town. OverNight at Hotel Khangsar.

Day 7: Kaza Kumzum La - Pass - Manali

(200 KM/10 - 12 hours)

After early breakfast, drive to Manali via Kunzum la Pass which is 4590 M. highest pass on Spiti Lahaul Road. Rudyard Kipling said of the region “Surely the God live here this no place for Men”. Reach Manali in the evening. overnight Hotel.
